Take My Hand is a young organisation with a dynamic team that has resolved to make a difference in society by using its existing resources and skills to harness present and developing new relationships between non-profit organisations, the private sector and government institutions. We are approved as a conduit and operational public benefit organisation (PBO) with section 18A. Now, all that this means is that we’ve got two responsibilities. One is to help other approved PBO’s with funding and support and the other is to do our own public benefit activities as per our memorandum of incorporation (MOI) listed below.
- Promoting poverty relief and spearheading community development by stimulating innovative entrepreneurial interventions and supporting emerging micro-enterprises and supporting organisations that do so;
- Providing support efforts for and educational programmes relating to traumatised persons aimed at providing them and their families with emotional, financial, physical and psychological backing as well as supporting organisations that do so;
- Providing supportive educational activities to pupils at schools and supporting organisations that do so;
- Equipping schools with institutional support to provide effective education and infrastructural support to improve facilities, resources and equipment.
- Supporting and raising awareness of organisations aimed at improving the quality of life of abandoned, abused and neglected children coming from impoverished communities and supporting organisations that do so;
- Assisting and taking care of the needs of people with severe physical and mental disabilities through resource mobilisation interventions;
- and providing educational activities aimed at increased understanding of health-care, sex education, family well-being and educational development.
What We Do – Vision & Mission
Take My Hand’s vision is an accountable and sustainable South African Non-Profit sector equipped to effectively serve communities in need.
Our main objective is to provide funds and assets (primarily monetary funding as well as assets in the form of audio-visual support material) to approved public benefit organisations
and associations of persons that carry on public benefit activities.
Our goal is to develop and implement the best suitable multimedia assets (fundraising, awareness and supporting initiatives) that will not only ensure sustainable growth to each of our recipients, but also educate and inspire all participants.
